The short version
- We keep what is needed to send email as you, and nothing for advertising.
- Your mail password is encrypted before it is stored. Your Lettera password is hashed.
- We do not add tracking pixels to the emails you send.
- We use one cookie to keep you signed in, and Google Analytics to count visits to our public pages.
What we store
Your account
Your name, your email address, a hash of your password, your trial dates and when you last signed in.
Addresses you connect
The display name and address you send from, the mail server settings and username, and your app or mailbox password in encrypted form.
Emails you send
The subject, recipients, the HTML and plain-text body, and whether the send worked. This is your send history, and it is how you can look back at what went out.
Replies you ask for
When you choose to check for replies, we read your inbox for messages that answer an email you sent with Lettera, and save those replies next to it. We do not search the rest of your mailbox.
Security records
A log of actions such as sign-ins and sends, with the outcome, time, IP address and browser type. Passwords and message content are not written to this log.
Why we use it
- To send the emails you ask us to send, from the account you choose.
- To confirm your email address and to help you reset a forgotten password.
- To keep accounts secure and to look into problems when a send fails.
Keeping and deleting
We keep your data while your account exists. You can remove a connected address at any time from the Accounts page, which deletes its stored credentials.
You can delete your whole account from Settings. That permanently removes your profile, connected addresses, send history and saved replies.
